Soonr Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026
In short: Soonr runs almost entirely on your iPhone. We don't sell your data, there are no ads and we use no third-party analytics. The little that does leave your phone (a mission photo, the text of what you say in the tongue-twister) is processed on the fly to give you an answer and is not stored.
1. Who processes your data
Juan Belaustegui, developer of Soonr, acting as data controller. Contact: ryseappsupport@gmail.com.
2. What stays on your device
This never leaves your iPhone and is gone if you delete the app:
- Your alarms, schedules, missions and settings.
- Your streak, your experience points and your wake-up history.
- Any audio or video you import to use as an alarm tone.
- The name you type when you start.
- The pose and shake missions: the camera and the motion sensors are analysed on the device itself. No image from those missions ever leaves your iPhone.
3. What is sent to our server
- "Make your bed" and "Find an object" missions: the photo travels encrypted (HTTPS) to our server and from there to Google Gemini, which only reports whether the bed is made or the object is present. The request is stateless: it is processed and discarded. Neither we nor Google store it or use it to train models.
- "Tongue-twister" mission: what you say is transcribed by the iOS speech recogniser. The audio never reaches our server; the transcribed text does, along with the tongue-twister and your name if you entered one, so that Soonr can reply with a personalised line (Google Gemini) and speak it (ElevenLabs). This is not stored either.
- A random device identifier and your IP address: used only to rate-limit requests and prevent abuse. They are not linked to your identity and no profile is built from them.
4. Account (optional)
Soonr works fully without an account. If you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we store in Supabase your user identifier, your email address — or Apple's private relay address, if you choose to hide it — and your name if Apple shares it. Its only purpose is to keep your progress when you change phones.
You can delete your account from within the app, in Settings. Deletion removes the user and their data from our systems, and is immediate and irreversible.
5. Subscription
Purchases are handled by Apple, and subscription status is managed by RevenueCat under an anonymous identifier. We never see or process payment data: Apple does not share it with us.
6. Notifications
Soonr schedules local notifications so your alarm rings and to remind you before a free trial ends. They are generated on your device.
7. Permissions we ask for
Notifications, camera, microphone and speech recognition, access to the audio files you pick, and motion sensors. All of them are optional, requested at the moment they are needed, and used only for what is described above.
8. Providers
They only process what this policy describes, and on our behalf: Vercel (server hosting), Supabase (accounts), Google Gemini (photo analysis and reply writing), ElevenLabs (voice), RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions). Some are based in the United States, under the international transfer safeguards provided for by the GDPR.
9. Retention
Photos and transcriptions are not retained. Server logs keep errors for a short period and never contain photos, transcriptions or keys. Account data is kept for as long as the account exists.
10. Children
Soonr is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
11. Your rights
You can access, correct, delete, object to or restrict the processing of your data, or request its portability, by writing to ryseappsupport@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
12. Changes
If this policy changes, it is published here with a new update date. If the change is significant, you will be told inside the app.
